General Anaesthesia is the state produced when a patient receives medications for amnesia, analgesia, muscle paralysis, and sedation. An anaesthetised patient can be thought of as being in a controlled, reversible state of unconsciousness. Anaesthesia enables a patient to tolerate surgical procedures that would otherwise inflict unbearable pain, potentiate extreme physiologic exacerbations, and result in unpleasant memories. An Anaesthesiologist is a specially trained doctor who specializes in Anaesthesia. While you are unconscious, the Anaesthesiologist monitors your body's vital functions and manages your breathing.
At Julian Nursing Home our qualified Anaesthetist will assist you during your health treatments.
